The professional team at FLOOR has over 3 decades of experience in the floor sanding & polishing industry. This page tells you a little bit about FLOOR and our history.

Mark has over the years had many past clients requesting his services.  They want the best, which is a testament to the mastery he has of his trade. Information regarding Mark’s past business and company names was necessary so existing customers could easily find and contact him. Mark Jolley QBCC Lic No  71201.

Mark Jolley

Not only is Mark’s craftsmanship outstanding, but his dedication to customer service is the ethos on which every one of his businesses is based. Together with their team they are committed to keeping up with worldwide flooring trends.  Complimenting this with the use of quality products and meticulous attention to detail.

In 1990 Mark Jolley started his first floor sanding business, trading as M I & K Jolley. This business went from strength to strength as we grew rapidly by word of mouth & client referrals.

Senator Floor Sanding

By 1995 Mark wanted a new business name that was more than just his name. Having just bought a new Commodore, he decided to brand his growing business Senator Floor Sanding.

In the early years, he focused on Brisbane’s western suburbs. Demand then grew beyond Ipswich & Toowoomba, from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast.

By 1997 the business had grown to the point where Mark started employing crews to help keep up with demand.

MIB Timber Floors

In 1999, a thriving business soon transformed into a company.  By using the first initials of the new staff’s names, Mark, Ivan (Mark’s father) and their sales representative Beau, MIB Timber Floors was established.   Thanks to the world-wide phenomenon of the film, customers affectionately called Mark and his team the Men in Black. They were highly recognisable given this match to the MIB name and their black uniforms. They also drove Mercedes vans (which were actually white but amusingly, clients were certain they were black!) So while Will Smith was saving the world from aliens, Mark and his team were dedicating their time to transforming customer’s worn, wooden floors into beautiful surfaces.

At this time, his son Konnor also joined Mark & the team – making the business 3 generations deep.

After many successful years, caring for customers throughout Brisbane’s west MIB Timber Floors was due for a name change.  We needed one that would register well with internet search engines and the name Quicksand & Polish Pty Ltd was adopted.  Our slogan was, “Transform your timber floors with the perfect process.”  Eventually Quicksand & Polish was shortened to just QSAND.

Brisbane Timber Floors

In 2013, unfortunately due to divorce, Qsand closed. This provided an opportunity for a new company name. As a result, Mark created Brisbane Timber Floors Pty Ltd. and later, Floor Sanding Brisbane Pty Ltd.

Mark has proudly seen these two businesses succeed in suburbs all over Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba & the Sunshine & Gold Coasts.  “Brisbane Timber Floors, Sanding at its finest” is one of our current slogans. Brisbane Timber Floors Pty Ltd QBCC Lic No. 15005480.

In 2017 in order to simply our brand, we merged and redirected Floor Sanding Brisbane Pty Ltd to FLOOR.
